Consultation Program
In order to enable community input to the development of SA Water’s Long Term Plan, the Eyre Peninsula NRM Board and SA Water are running a consultation program to ensure that the Eyre Peninsula community is provided the opportunity to provide input into the process.
As part of this process a series of information forums are being held during October across Eyre Peninsula in all major centres. These forums will:
- provide information about the current status of water resources and infrastructure planning for Eyre Peninsula;
- seek input from the community regarding issues and opportunities to be considered by SA Water in preparing its Long Term Plan;
- enable participants to register for future consultation sessions regarding the Long Term Plan.
The following provides a schedule of the key activities in the Long Term Plan process:
- August 2007 - Eyre Peninsula Water Security Reference Group established and first meeting held.
- October 2007 - Information sessions with key stakeholders/community.
- November 2007 - Initial Long Term Plan strategy ideas developed.
- November 2007 - March 2008 - Consultation on draft Long Term Plan.
- April 2008 - Final consultation on draft Long Term Plan.
- May 2008 - Eyre Peninsula Water Security Reference Group comment on Long Term Plan – community views documented and presented to Minister.
