The Eyre Peninsula NRM Board has a number of funding sources which support the range of projects and activities that are undertaken across the region. These include, but are not limited to:
State Government Contribution
A contribution called the ‘NRM Fund’ is delivered to South Australian regional NRM Boards annually by the South Australian Government. These funds were previously provided to the Soil Conservation Boards and Pest Plant and Animal Control Boards.
NRM Levy
Eyre Peninsula ratepayers contribute towards natural resource management through the NRM Levy within their annual council rates notices. The NRM Levy is collected by councils as reimbursement for the contributions they are required to make to the Eyre Peninsula NRM Board.
Caring for our Country
Caring for our Country is the Government's new natural resource management initiative. Caring for our Country is designed as an integrated package with one clear goal, a business approach to investment, clearly articulated outcomes and priorities and improved accountability. It will commence on 1 July 2008 and will integrate delivery of the Commonwealth's existing natural resource management programs, the Natural Heritage Trust, the National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality, the National Landcare Program, the Environmental Stewardship Program and the Working on Country Indigenous land and environmental program. Funding opportunities through the Caring for our Country program are now available. Please visit the Australian Government NRM website for futher information: www.nrm.gov.au
